Design Competition
The Mount Sopris Nordic Council is pleased to announce a design competition for artists who love Spring Gulch!
We are looking for a repeating pattern design that will be used to create the newest winter hat apparel for sale this coming winter '22-'23 to support the Spring Gulch nordic ski trails! The hats will be made in Vermont by Skida apparel company. Check out their website for design inspiration. SKIDA
What: Create a pattern that can be repeated (duplicated endlessly). The ideal design will have no lines or inconsistencies on the repeat and be multi-directional. Designs should be submitted as a Tiff file in CMYK color mode.
For tips on creating a repeating design please refer to this helpful PDF. It is recommended to start the design with a square and with a design in mind that can repeat.
Due Date: July 8th
Winner: Will be determined by a volunteer committee and will receive a $500 cash prize and one of the beautiful hats!
Artists may enter more than one design.
All art must be original and not use any copyrighted third-party materials. The winning artist is asked to grant full rights to the Mount Sopris Nordic Council to use the chosen design for promotional materials.
Heart pounding joy, long vistas of mountain ranges, surrounded by sage brush, gambel oaks, magnificent aspen groves and creature friends both big and small; skiing at Spring Gulch evokes many feelings of wonder and beauty. We know many local artists draw inspiration from time spent skiing the winding trails. We hope you will share your inspiration with us and create some awesome designs in support of the ski area.
The hats will be available for sale during the winter of '22-'23!
