The Mt Sopris Nordic Council - a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization - has stewarded “Community-Powered Skiing” at Spring Gulch since 1986. Since the beginning, we’ve been on a mission to provide a quality cross-country ski area in the lower Roaring Fork Valley at no cost to skiers; however, it is not a no-cost operation.

Roughly $800 per day goes into keeping our ski area groomed and well maintained for skier enjoyment.

Donations from local businesses and individuals have been the core of our annual operating budget, allowing us to purchase and maintain specialized grooming equipment, support our grooming staff, and otherwise keep the wheels turning behind the scenes to keep our beloved community ski area open to the public. In recent years, over 400 individuals and businesses have supported Spring Gulch annually, helping us grow as an organization, expand our trail system, and enhance the quality of grooming.

Your support as a local business partner shows you recognize and value the impact that this outstanding resource for winter recreation has on our local community. In appreciation, we’ll give your business a shout out in our information kiosk at the trailhead, in member communications, and in our annual report.

It’s a community effort and we are so grateful to have your business in our corner!
